Pietra di Trani is a marble quarried in Apulia, near the city from which it takes its name. Over the centuries, it has been used to create long-lasting monuments, as well as being introduced in construction for ornamental purposes and to enhance interiors and exteriors of buildings and homes.
Characterised by a clear colour tending towards ivory, Trani Stone has some fossil remains and its crystals may be visible within the rock composition. Based on its structure, it is classified into several types including: Trani Bronzetto, Trani Serpeggiante and Trani Filetto Rosso. The latter is the one used by MarmoGranito.it.
Features
Pietra di Trani is a carbonate rock, born from the deposition of sedimentary layers. It is a tough limestone, more aesthetically similar to marble travertine.
Use
Famous for centuries in the stone and construction industry, it is used to make stairs, jambs, skirting tiles, roofing, kerbs and road paving. In recent years, the range of production and processing has been expanded, finding application in both civil construction and complex architectural structures.
